Piper on Trusting Christ

“Saving faith is the heartfelt conviction not only that Christ is reliable, but also that he is desirable. It is the confidence that he will come through with his promises and that what he promises is more to be desired than all the world.”

- John Piper, Desiring God

Keller on Trusting God

"Someone says ‘I wish I could trust God.’ The answer is, you can. You are just refusing to mistrust yourself, and you are refusing to question the things you have put your trust in.”

- Tim Keller

MacDonald on the places where God works

This quote has often sustained my wife and me through the years since 1996 when we first came acroos it. From George McDonald in, I think, The Curate's Awakening.

"Because you don't see what can be done, you say God can do nothing--which is like saying there cannot be more within His scope than there is within yours. One thing is clear: if He saw no more than lies within your sight, He could not be God. The very impossibility you see in things points to the region God works in."
